Booking a facial is one thing. Knowing what’s actually going to happen once you’re in the chair is another. If you’re considering a Hydro2Facial at Kent Laser & Aesthetic Clinic, here’s exactly what the appointment involves, from the first cleanse to the final cool-down.
Before Your Treatment: A Quick Consultation
Most clients have a short consultation with one of the clinic’s aestheticians before their first session. This isn’t a box-ticking exercise. It’s how the treatment gets tailored to your skin, since the Hydro2Facial isn’t a single fixed routine but a combination of seven technologies that can be adjusted depending on what your skin needs.
Step 1: Deep cleanse
The treatment opens with a Hydropeel, using a combination of three solutions to cleanse and smooth the skin. This stage targets bacteria and calms inflamed skin, clearing the way for everything that follows.
Step 2: Exfoliation
Next comes exfoliation, designed to create what’s known as the Bohr effect, drawing oxygen into the skin. Combined with active ingredients, this step leaves skin hydrated and visibly brighter almost immediately.
Step 3: Oxygenation
A fine spray creates a venturi effect, breaking the product down into smaller molecules so it can penetrate further into the skin. This is where the deeper hydration really starts to take hold.
Step 4: Skin lifting
Using electroporation, this stage increases how readily skin cells absorb the product. It’s particularly good for dull, tired-looking skin, helping to revitalise and “wake up” the complexion.
Step 5: Skin tightening
Radio frequency technology is used here to support collagen production, which is why this step is often highlighted for clients focused on more mature or ageing skin concerns.
Step 6: Hydration
Ultrasound technology drives products further into the skin for deeper infusion, locking in the benefits of everything applied so far.
Step 7: Fire & Ice finish
The treatment closes with a contrast finish. Heat is applied first to open pores, increase blood supply, and aid product penetration. This is followed by a cooling element that chills the skin down to around 5°C, reducing blood supply for a tightening effect and sealing the infused products in.
What to Expect Afterwards
There’s no downtime. You can go straight back to your day. Results are typically visible for around 4 to 6 weeks per session, which is why a course of around 8 treatments is generally recommended for clients working on a specific skin concern rather than a one-off refresh. Treatment time varies between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on which elements are included for your skin.
Is It Right For You?
The Hydro2Facial is built to address several concerns at once, including dehydration, dullness, congestion, and the visible effects of skin ageing. Because it combines seven technologies rather than relying on one, it tends to suit a broader range of skin concerns than a single-method facial.
