Mole Removal

Removal of Moles

If you have a mole that requires removal it would be best to come into the clinic for a consultation with Dr Patel so he can assess the area and advise the best method of removal. Consultations with Dr Patel are charged but redeemable against the cost of treatment.

There are 2 methods the Doctor uses for removing skin lesions.

Hyfrecation is primarily used for small raised moles (often known as dermal naevi), skin tags and warts.  The hyfrecation process uses micro-currents of electricity to heat small treatment tips which, when applied, destroy the target skin or the blood supply feeding a lesion.

Cut and stitch

If the doctor feels that the mole needs to be cut, stitched and sent to histology, then there will be a further charge for this procedure. Usually only one treatment is necessary.
