Microdermabrasion is somewhat useful for people with dull or sallow skin, mild acne, acne discoloration, pick marks, and very superficial acne scars. Microdermabrasion may be a good treatment option for patients with superficial skin problems and busy lifestyles who are looking for minimal benefits with virtually no side effects or downtime. The main Contra-indication of this treatment is pregnancy however you may also be an unsuitable candidate due to active acne in the area, cold sores, keloid scaring and various blood disorders. If you are using harsh products such as Tretinoin or Retin A, usage must be discontinued 5 days prior to treatment.
