Photo Rejuvenation with the Ellipse Flex medical IPL system will help to keep a younger and fresher looking face. The safe visible light emitted from the flashlamp is absorbed by the pigment vacuoles in the keratinocytes (the pigment cells) and also by the red blood cells in the facial thread veins. This generates heat that destroys the pigment and the vessel walls of the fine thread veins. The face is cooled before and during treatment to prevent damage to the surrounding skin. Immediately after the treatment the skin looks red but this settles within a few hours. Over the next few days you develop a dirty look when the skin develops very fine mottling and looks darker as the destroyed pigment is extruded from the cells. This settles in a few days leaving the skin looking smoother and fresher. It is also used to minimise large pores.

Expect a total of 2-3 treatments for maximum benefit.
